The redesign for www.chautauqualakerental.com was one of my first forays into using CSS exclusively.

The client wanted a refresh of their existing site to showcase the charming atmosphere associated with the relaxing property, while also being a quick load for users with slower Internet connections.

As is standard with all my website set ups, I included Google Analytics so the site owners will receive monthly emails of traffic to their website. From this information the owners were able to conclude that site traffic dramatically increased once the redesign was complete.

“Working with Samantha was pleasure. She listened to our thoughts and desires for the site and implemented them accordingly. The traffic to the site www.chautauqualakerental.com has more than tripled. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for any web design work.” – Andreas R. Tabor

An underwater sculpture by Jason de Caires Taylor

Part apocalyptic view of future, part anthropological look at the past, Jason de Caires Taylor has developed a quite haunting gallery of work on the sea floor. It evolves over time not how the artist intends it, but rather via the caprice of nature.

The Journal of Urban Typography

August 27th, 2008

Heat

Much to the aggravation of my travel companions, when I visit a new area I often am fascinated with the signs and textures of the locale. I usually document the visual and store it away for future motivation and use. A simple search on Flickr demonstrates that clearly, I am not alone in this obsession, but The Journal of Urban Typography brings inspiration without the journey to a new level, be it hand lettered or manufactured signage, each image is an inspirational gem.
