Site Update

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

I created this site over two years ago when I graduated from Marietta College as an undergrad with passable web knowledge.  Due to my personal explorations regarding HTML, CSS and PHP, I have come to discover that my knowledge far outstrips what my site demonstrates. So in the next few weeks I will be redesigning and restructuring my site.

Don’t be alarmed if the next time you come here things look a bit different.

Upgrade

Monday, January 19th, 2009

So for the past few months I have been lagging in my blog updates. I have been busy with graduate school, busy with an internship, busy with freelance work, in general just busy. Also a few months ago I noticed that there was some kind of error with WordPress and I started to get a substantial amount of spam comments. So, essentially I was WordPress jaded.

My recent work on Sugar Creek Fountains web site forced me to get back into the world of WordPress, and I like what I see. I have been considering a site overhaul integrating my Twitter, my Flickr, and other social web devices.

So here is to getting back into the swing of things.

And if you haven’t yet, do yourself a favor and upgrade to the latest WordPress.

Welcome

Friday, December 28th, 2007

Hello, and welcome to the new version of SamanthaArmacost.com, it is still a work in progress, but then any portfolio site/blog will never be complete. This blog section has technical elements that I am still working the kinks out of, so if you find some part that doesn’t appear to display correctly I would greatly appreciate you leaving a comment on this entry to that effect.

My web presence has come a long way since my first table-laden design which was hosted by my alma mater. Focusing on my print work and ceramics, the site was called She Dreams in CMYK reflecting my desire to do print work.

The second layout kept the ink inspired theme, but moved in to the realm of Flash. This posed quite a challenge that resulted well, but didn’t provide the best solution for a site that needs continual updates.

So here we are with the third try. Easier to update, a fancy blog, and, of course, matching my letterhead and logo. I hope you enjoy all my efforts.
