After a few years of lusting over the Lensbaby products I finally decided that the time to take action and buy one. Although, the main factor in my sudden purchase is that my days of student discounts are coming to a swift end. So expect some new images popping up throughout my blog as I continue to test out this new toy.

So without further ado, here are some of my latest experiments:

During the fall I worked with a local firm to create or refresh logos for area merchants.

My first project with the organization was to create a new logo for a well established florist keeping future printing budgets in mind, thus I had to keep to a minimum of colors.

When I develop a logo, I begin the piece using only black so I know it will work well in one color rather than the other way around. There is nothing more heartbreaking than coming up with a slick multi-color logo that falls apart when displayed with one color. By following this process, I was able to restrict the pallet to two colors providing a simple accent to the flower and hummingbird.

The owner of The Buckley House Restaurant initially approached me to develop a logo for the new restaurant, so this piece consists of both identity and web work. I also photographed the chef and restaurant space for the rotating images featured on the site.

An essential page for any restaurant is that which contains contact and directions, without it patrons would never be able to locate their destination. In this situation, I utilized Google Maps to allow site users the flexibility of obtaining directions tailored to their needs quickly and easily.

As a life long fan of pies, and being a prize winning baker (back in my 4-H days) I don’t know why I didn’t start making pies sooner. Perhaps I was discouraged by the way people scoff at the phrase “Easier than Pie.” But in reality, it is easy to make a beautiful and delicious pie.

I actually began my pie making endeavors last September. But so far, I have enjoyed every bit of the fruits of my labors.
